ROTARIANS “MAKE DREAMS REAL”

Welcome to another Rotary year. At the International Convention in Los Angeles our President Elect, D. K. Lee from Korea challenged us to continue to support Rotary’s world-wide Continuity Goals of Clean Water, Literacy, Heath and Hunger. D.K. told us about the 30,000 children under the age of five who die each day and asked us to focus our efforts in each of these areas on children and on reducing the world’s terrible rate of child mortality.

D.K. said “In 2008-09 I will ask you all to MAKE DREAMS REAL for the world’s children. This is our theme and my challenge to all of you. We will make Dreams Real by giving Children hope and a chance at a future. Not by just providing clean water but by creating the sanitation that keeps them healthy. We will Make Dreams Real by giving children the chance at health through improving their environments and access to care and we will Make Dreams Real by making sure more children have a chance to go to school, because it is through education that the deadly cycle of poverty can be broken. And if every Rotarian does this job well we will have achieved something wonderful”.

THANK YOU   Speaking for all the District Leadership we look forward to working with you to make this the best Rotary Year yet!
